(iv) Judging and Selection

SOIF & TTF, their advisors and the NGFP Judging Panel will produce a shortlist of entrants for the NGFP Young Voices Award.

Young Voices entries must take account of any word limits specified in the Judging Criteria. Any Fellowship entry that exceeds a stated word limit may, at SOIF & TTF 's discretion, be disqualified and not considered.

Judging will take place through a random allocation. Each application will be judged by a series of judges.

The judging process will be undertaken by the NGFP Judges Network community and members of SOIF & TTF.

To make their judgements, each judge will independently rank the shortlisted nominees, marking each entry against how it meets the judging criteria (the "Judging Criteria").

Top rated applicant will win first place, followed by three runner up awards and six recognized awards (ten awards total).

(v) Criteria

Judging will be conducted based on the information provided in the application form. Entrants are required to complete all steps of the application.

Eligibility for the Young Voices Awards will be determined at the discretion of SOIF & TTF based on submitted information and judges' scoring.

For the Young Voices, eligible entrants will be judged based on the questions asked in the application:

  • Write a short essay (maximum 400 words) on how a current project or an intended project will consider the well-being of others and the future of the planet. Submissions can be in native language but please include an English translation.
  • Create and submit a short video (maximum 2m 30s) about what they would want to do with the Young Voices prize. The video is a pitch addressed to their community persuading them that this project or idea is good or even necessary and giving them reasons for supporting or joining it. Video can be in your native language but please include English subtitles. Please create new and original video and do not upload a news clipping or old video.
  • Indicate which of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) their idea would contribute to.

(vi) Copyright

The named entrant of each submission owns the copyright to that entry. If another person or organisation is the author of your entry, you warrant that you have received an assignment of all associated copyright to your entry from that person. SOIF & TTF may ask to see evidence of that assignment at any time.

In consideration of SOIF & TTF agreeing to consider your entry for the Young Voices Award, each entrant: (a) grants SOIF & TTF a royalty-free licence to copy, edit, display, publish, broadcast and make available their entry in any format in connection with the Young Voices; (b) agrees that SOIF & TTF may publish their name in connection with SOIF & TTF's use of the entry; (c) warrants that the work submitted with their entry is their own or the relevant organisation's original work, that it is not defamatory and that it does not infringe any third-party rights; (d) and agrees that SOIF & TTF may grant to its partners and/or associated companies a sub-licence of the rights licensed to SOIF & TTF under these terms and conditions on such terms as SOIF & TTF shall agree in its sole discretion.
